Vast.ai has been named the #11 fastest-growing software vendor in Brex's Fall 2026 Benchmark report. This marks our second appearance in the corporate spend platform's rankings in under a year. We previously ranked #11 on Brex's list of the 50 fastest-growing software vendors of 2025.

In this latest report, Brex listed the top 25 vendors by growth in spending among its customers. The ranking is based on card and bill-pay activity across tens of thousands of companies, comparing customer spending from July–September 2026 with April–June 2026.

Brex's report tracks what businesses are actually spending money on – and this fall, it reveals that spend growth is being driven in large part by demand for the infrastructure behind autonomous AI agents.

AI Agents Are Driving Demand for Compute

Brex's findings indicate that while companies often start by paying for models and AI agents, putting those tools to work requires supporting services: GPUs to run the models, and separate computing environments where agents can execute code and run tests.

The report highlights several stats in that vein:

  • Spend on GPUs has grown about 15x since early 2024 on Brex, while CPU execution is up 10x during that same period.
  • Typical monthly bills haven't increased in either group, so that growth stemmed from new companies arriving, not from bigger bills.
  • More companies are pairing GPU compute with other infrastructure. Among those already paying for GPUs, the share that are also renting sandbox or testing services rose from 12% in 2024 to 29% so far in 2026.
  • 97% of this year's first-time buyers of sandbox or testing services were already paying OpenAI, Anthropic, or a GPU vendor.

The more companies adopt and deploy AI agents, the more important the underlying compute infrastructure becomes.

Where Vast.ai Fits In

Brex categorized us as a GPU provider. Of the 25 fastest-growing vendors, we're one of eight that rent compute.

That share, nearly one-third, is no surprise given how quickly demand for compute is growing. AI workloads are increasingly moving from prototypes to production, and developers are building more sophisticated applications and agents. The models behind all of it depend on reliable access to GPU compute.

Looking ahead, Brex highlights a trend to watch: companies shifting from paying for AI models by usage to running their own models on dedicated GPUs.

As more businesses explore this approach, the question becomes not just which model to use, but where to run it. Vast.ai was built around that need. With 20,000+ GPUs from over 1,000 independent hosts on our platform, teams can run the models they want on the GPUs they need, and pay only for the compute they use.

What's Next

As AI development continues to advance, we plan to keep earning our place in rankings like this one. Our model-agnostic and cloud-agnostic platform will stay centered around making GPU compute more reliable, scalable, and accessible for the next generation of AI and agentic workloads.

Thank you to the 200,000+ active developers who build on Vast.ai and the hosts who make it possible.
