Qwen Image Edit 2511 is the December 2025 release of the image editing model in the Qwen series, built on the Qwen Image foundation model. Where Qwen Image focuses on text-to-image generation, Qwen Image Edit takes one or more existing images plus a natural-language instruction and produces a precisely edited result. The 2511 release is an enhanced version over Qwen-Image-Edit-2509, with notably better consistency between the input image and the edited output.

The release targets the failure modes that matter most in production editing workflows. Key enhancements include mitigated image drift (unedited regions stay faithful to the source), improved character consistency, LoRA capabilities integrated directly into the base model, enhanced industrial design generation, and strengthened geometric reasoning.

Character and Multi-Person Consistency

Character consistency is significantly improved in this release. The model can perform imaginative edits based on an input portrait while preserving the identity and visual characteristics of the subject. Where the 2509 release improved consistency for single-subject editing, 2511 extends this to multi-person group photos, enabling high-fidelity fusion of two separate person images into a coherent group shot.

Multi-Image Editing

The model accepts multiple reference images in a single edit. A typical instruction references them by position, such as transferring the material from one image onto an object in another, or composing two separately photographed subjects into one scene. Reference handling is built into the conditioning path rather than bolted on, which is what makes material transfer, subject insertion, and image fusion work reliably.

Built-In Community LoRA Capabilities

Since the original Qwen Image Edit release, the community has developed many creative and high-quality LoRAs. Qwen Image Edit 2511 integrates selected popular LoRAs directly into the base model, unlocking their effects without extra adapters or tuning. Realistic lighting control and novel viewpoint generation, which previously required dedicated LoRAs, are now achievable out of the box.

The release pays special attention to practical engineering scenarios: batch industrial product design, material replacement on industrial components, and stronger geometric reasoning, such as directly generating auxiliary construction lines for design or annotation purposes.
